SMC’s Women’s Diagnostic Center Aces Compliance Inspection for Fifth Consecutive Year
April 11, 2012
The Women’s Diagnostic Center at Springhill Medical Center achieved the highest FDA inspection compliance grade for the fifth year in a row.
The Women’s Diagnostic Center at Springhill Medical Center’s annual inspection was in March. Inspection includes a review of all daily, weekly and monthly quality control tests for the past 12 months. The inspection also covers a review of the 15 hours of continuing education required of all mammographers and radiologists, as well as current licenses for all personnel and the number of exams performed or read by each individual.
The rules that govern Mammography were set up by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) in 1992. The rules are enforced by FDA. Each Mammography center is inspected annually.
Dee Dee Huffman, Director of the Women’s Diagnostic Center, said she feels that the inspection is very thorough and passing with 100 percent compliance is a great achievement.
