Dr. Mike Sanders' Biography

Dr. Michael K. Sanders, a gastroenterologist with Internal Medicine Center, completed his general gastroenterology fellowship training at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA, followed by two additional years of training in both Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) at Oregon Health & Sciences University in Portland, Oregon, and Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, respectively.  Following completion of his training, he joined the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center as an Assistant Professor of Medicine where he specialized in advanced endoscopic procedures.  He was promoted to Chief of Therapeutic Endoscopy and Director of the Interventional Endoscopy Fellowship program prior to returning to Mobile in 2011.  He specializes in general gastroenterology, as well as therapeutic ERCP and both diagnostic and interventional EUS.
