Services

Rehabilitation at Springhill Medical Center utilizes an interdisciplinary approach and offers a complete team of treatment specialists.

Services Available:

  • Physical Therapy:

Physical therapy (PT) is intended to help patients improve or restore mobility, and in many cases helping patients reduce pain, and avoid the need for surgery and the long-term use of prescription medications and their side effects.

Physical therapists examine, evaluate, and treat patients whose conditions limit their ability to move and function in daily life. The physical therapist's overall goal will be to maintain, restore, or improve mobility and help reduce pain.

  • Occupational Therapy:
  • Occupational therapy (OT) is intended to help people of all ages participate in the things they want and need to do through the therapeutic use of everyday activities (occupations).  OT helps people function in all of their environments (e.g., home, work, school, community) and addresses the physical, psychological, and cognitive aspects of their well-being through engagement in occupation.
  • Occupational therapy services typically include: an individualized evaluation, where the client, family, and occupational therapist  collaborate to determine the person’s goals, customized intervention to improve the person’s ability to perform daily activities and reach the goals, and an outcomes evaluation to ensure that the goals are being met and/or to modify the intervention plan based on the patient’s progress.
