During the month of August, we are focusing on High Blood Pressure, often referred to as “the silent killer”.

There are no symptoms and you can have high blood pressure for years without knowing.  Uncontrolled high blood pressure increases your risk of serious health problems, including heart attack and stroke.

Fortunately, high blood pressure can be easily detected.  And once you know you have high blood pressure, you can work with your physician to control it.

Unfortunately, many people who have high blood pressure go undetected.  And still others fail to manage their condition correctly.

Be sure to routinely get your blood pressure tested.  Know your risk factors.  Make lifestyle changes.  And follow your physician’s instructions.

Who Gets Hypertension?

High blood pressure is more likely in people who:

·         Have a family history of high blood pressure, heart disease, or diabetes
·         Are African-American
·         Are over age 55
·         Are overweight
·         Are not physically active
·         Drink excessively
·         Smoke
Remember …

Your body is the most important investment of your life.
It’s priceless!  Begin investing in your future NOW.
Live life HEALTHY.  Live life WELL.
