SMC honors Employee of the Year 2012

November 14, 2012

Springhill Medical Center honored Teresa Eiland as 2012 Employee of the Year. Eiland, a Wilmer resident, has been an employee at SMC for 25 years. She has been the Family and Physician Liaison for the Cath Lab for the past nine years. This is a well-deserved honor for Eiland!
Eiland is big reason for the Cath Lab’s success. “Teresa is well known for her kindness, dedication and hard work,” said co-worker Amie Lewis, RN. “She understands the goals and purpose of the organization better than most people.”
Eiland was surprised but very honored to receive the award. As Employee of the Year, Eiland was recognized as someone who best embodies Springhill’s mission:
“To be the best health care provider in Mobile, where patients, physicians, and payers can rely on our outstanding staff to be efficiently provide health care that is unmatched in quality, convenience, and benefit of use in a courteous and family-oriented manner;”
The role of Family and Physician Liaison in the Cath Lab is important and means a great deal to Eiland. “It means that I am responsible for the outcome of the day for the patients’ families, the staff and our physicians,” she said. “Always put yourself in the other people’s shoes, and you won’t mind putting forth that extra effort to get real results.”
This year’s other honored nominees were Beverly Ervin, Tina Loeb, Willie Kennedy and Ceola Lamb. SMC is honored to have such a great staff!
