Dr. John Galla (Cardiology Associates) and Dr. Charles Wyatt (Springhill Physician Practices – Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery) successfully completed at Springhill Medical the Gulf Coast area’s first percutaneous (TMVR) Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement in a patient.
The patient had previous heart surgery and was considered too high risk for repeat conventional surgery.
The patient was discharged within 48 hours and is at home recovering.
