Springhill Medical Center expanded surgical services to include cranial surgery this month.
Dr. Troy Middleton, III, and Dr. Edward R. Flotte, neurosurgeons with Coastal Neurological Institute, will continue scheduling cases that involve brain tumors and stroke-related lesions, among other cranial injuries.
Coastal Neurological Institute has been providing cranial, as well as neck and spinal care, for more than 50 years in Mobile County and the surrounding areas. Dr. Flotte trained in an intraresidency fellowship focusing on brain tumors, in addition to being on faculty at University of Mississippi specializing in brain tumors.
“We are extremely pleased to once again offer these surgical services at Springhill Medical Center,” said CEO/President Mr. Jeff St. Clair, “… and to do so with an accomplished neurosurgical practice such as Coastal Neurological Institute. We are fortunate to have the skill and experience that CNI brings to our patients.”
Springhill recently added specialized medical instrumentation and supplies necessary for neurosurgeons to handle these cases on campus.
