The Electrodiagnostic Department encompasses a variety of diagnostic exams. Our Vascular Lab performs non-invasive ultrasound procedures that look for areas of vascular blockage or disease. Our Vascular Lab is accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission in the following testing areas: Arterial, Venous and Extra-Cranial Cerebrovascular.
Our Echocardiography Lab performs non-invasive and invasive cardiac ultrasound procedures. Echocardiography is commonly used in the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of patients with suspected or known cardiac disease. We have recently purchased new state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment with the capability of performing 4D ultrasound imaging of cardiac valves. Our Echocardiography Lab is accredited by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission in Adult Echocardiography.
Our Neurodiagnostics Department performs Electroencephalography, Nerve Conduction Studies and Electromyography. This department is managed by an experienced technologist that is registered in the fields of EEG and NCV technology.
We use an advanced technology dictation/reporting system that allows our physicians the ability to dictate, transcribe, and sign your study report all at the same time. There is no ‘turnaround time’ waiting for a transcriptionist to type a report. This means that the report will be in your physician’s hands in the least amount of time possible, improving communication and patient care for everyone.
Our Employees
Our Electrodiagnostic Department employs 8 registered echocardiographers, 5 registered vascular technologists, 1 technologist registered in both electroencephalography and nerve conduction studies, and 1 certified cardiographic technologist. The Director of Electrodiagnostics, Mariena White, has been employed at Springhill Medical Center for over 30 years and holds a certification in each of the areas that she oversees. We are proud of our commitment to quality patient care and strive to achieve even greater levels of quality.
